Owning a business, and specifically a deli-style business, has always been a long-awaited dream for Terry and Ginny Howard. Their story begins in college where they met and married shortly after graduation. Terry was a business major, and his senior project was to produce a business plan; and he chose a sub shop. After getting married, they decided to relocate back to Ginny’s hometown of Orlando, FL rather than stay in their small college town to attempt opening the deli.
In the beginning of his career, Terry worked in Banking and Financial Investments shifting later into Teaching Economics and History for High School; along with Coaching Basketball and Golf and obtaining his Master’s Degree in Finance & Accounting. While he was recovering from his Cancer surgery/treatment in 2015, he also obtained his FL Real Estate license which later transferred here to NC. Happy to say Terry is still cancer free to this day! After relocating to the Western NC area, Terry was a Manager with H&R Block and last year a Director at Chick-fil-a.
Since graduating from college with a BS in Computer Science, Ginny has held a variety of jobs in the IT field and her amazing organization skills and passion for owning a business will be a welcome accompaniment to Terry’s well-rounded business and finance experience. Together, they identified this to be the perfect timing to embrace the opportunity to purchase the Maggie Valley Sandwich Shop and fulfill those long-awaited dreams!
Although Terry and Ginny spent most of their years raising their 2 kids in Orlando, FL Ginny is no stranger to this area. She had grown-up here during many summers since her grandfather had built a home here in the ‘60s. In addition, she and Terry have vacationed here many times because her parents also made the move from FL to NC. Having always loved the mountains and especially this Western NC area, it became a clear choice to relocate here themselves once their children moved away from home. Their daughter and her family, including 2 grandchildren, still reside in FL and their adult son has also relocated to the Western NC area.
Away from work, and when not on vacation visiting family in FL, or adventuring around with their 14.5yr old Black Lab, Terry and Ginny can be found on the many nearby golf courses, attending Country concerts or frequenting the vast variety of craft breweries in the area!
